A lion supporting a coat of arms is depicted with a cityscape in the background, traversed by a river. Although the city is evidently imaginary, it includes numerous architectural elements that evoke Rome, such as the Ponte Rotto on the left and a monumental column on the right, possibly alluding to either the Column of Marcus Aurelius or that of Trajan.
