The run of the Berbers on the via Lata, now Corso, as seen from Piazza Colonna during the Carnival. Domenico Jacovacci had been caporione of the Rione Colonna from 1617 (when he was 13 years old) to 1621. He resided thereby with his uncles until 1634. Other representations of the square from the period are a fresco in the Biblioteca Vaticana, a painting by Johannes Lingelbach (1622-1674) in Vienna (inv. 9149), another by Jan Miel (1599-1664) in Wadsworth (inv. 1938.603), a drawing by Felice della Greca (1625-1677) in the Biblioteca Vaticana (I-Rbav Arch.Chigi 25058). In the vignette to the right, cornering with via Lata, is the palace of the family del Bufalo; on the left of the column are the small houses composing the Isola Colonna, destroyed in 1657/58 in the requalification plan set in motion by pope Alexander VII. Domenico Jacovacci was then Maestro di Strade with Giacinto del Bufalo.
